Old Age Pension

Does anyone know if the records for old age pension recipients are in a separate database from social security? If so, where and how do you access? Looking for record of my grandmother who was getting an old age pension in the 1930's. Also, do you know if they were issued a number like social security applicants? Thanks for any information.
