I am trying desperately to find the names of the parents of my GGGGrandfather William Marion Robinson. He was born Sept. 14, 1822 in Tennessee and moved to Georgia and settled there. Our William was a preacher and started 2 churches in Haralson county, Georgia. I believe he also lived in Cowetta and Carroll counties in Georgia. He married Nancy Johnson from Oglethorpe Georgia and they had 4 sons and 2 or 3 daughters. Three of the sons became preachers also. William Marion first started The Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Haralson county in 1867 and then he went about 5 miles down the road and started the Plainview Primitive Baptist Church which is now the New Plainview Baptist Church where he and his wife, Nancy, are buried. He died March 14, 1902. The only thing I know is his parents were both born in North Carolina due to census reports but besides that I do not know anything else. It has been suggested that his mother may have been Cherokee Indian but we do not know for sure. Also someone said that they had information of William Marion Robinson coming to Georgia from Tennessee around 1830 and he came with his mother and older brother John Robinson b. about 1820 and that as soon as John was of age he and his mother left Georgia for Texas where they had relatives. If this is so where was his father? What was his name and what was William's mother's name? He is also listed in the earlier census reports as Robeson or Roberson. They have been very hard to research. If anyone has any other info on this or something in writing please notify me. There are a lot of us looking for answers. We have not been able to locate a Family Bible or anything. Thank you Judy Moore
