Sullivan, Carter, Stuart, White--Dickson (and other?) County
Posted by: Theresa Sullivan-O'Neill Date: March 16, 1998 at 11:40:07

I am looking for any information on the parents, siblings, etc. of the following people:

John Sullivan (b. 1828 or 1829; died 1905), once U.S. Marshal, also tax collector during Civil War. Lived in Dickson County, buried in Caruthers Cemetery in Dickson County. Who are parents? Where was he born? Story about three brothers who came to Dickson area from "Boston," but think Boston was in Tennessee or Kentucky. Don't know if John was one of the brothers, or son of one of the brothers.

John married, on September 11, 1849:

Mary Jane Carter (Born about 1827, died 1908), buried in Caruthers Cemetery in Dickson County.

Marcus B. Stuart (Born about 1805, died 1865), was Justice of the Peace for many years.

Marcus married Susan Bibb Stuart (b. about 1814, died 1881) on 4/22/1830. Susan is descendant of Carr family of Virginia (Gideon). Marcus and Susan are buried in the Stuart Cemetery in Dickson County.

William Carroll Stuart (b. 2/22/1831, d. 6/13/1869). Doctor?

William married Eliza or Elizabeth White on 3/4/1856. Would like any information on Eliza/Elizabeth--parents, siblings, where born, etc.

Thanks for any help!

Theresa
