Jesse Franklin Osborn Dec 9 1836 In Franklin County Tennessee Died: 1918 May 9th in Texas. He married Sarah Jane Black on August 1 1858 Franklin county Tennessee.

They had 9 Children, the one I’m interested in is Lucy Elizabeth Osborn who married Edmond Stephens. She was an amateur photographer based on the fact that she is in very few pictures on account that she was taking them. She is buried in Voss with a 5” glass enclosed picture of her on her head stone. She is buried 15 miles from her husband Edmond who is buried in Leaday Texas.

Jesse Frank only got to see one of his children. He was a solider in the Confederate army, and was shot in the face by what is described as a “damn Yankee bullet” by Mary Lou powers in a letter she wrote. He was held as a POW in a union Prison until May 10 1866. When he was released after swearing allegiance to the union.

He has a brother in the same unit named William M. Osborn --Co. E, Enlisted May 20, 1861. AWOL on march from Corinth to Baldwin Miss. Jun 1862. Rejoined Nov. 15, 1862. On list of Confederates allowed to go home by Federal authorities July 7, 1863.

He received a pension of $4 a month to $60 a year. He went home had more children and made brooms till he died supposedly in 1918.

Can anyone tell me anything else, possibly his parents?

Ross Casey
