Thanks, Your infomation is valuable to me. Her husband Thomas Jefferson Pope b. 1831, in Bledsoe Tennessee, moved to Arkansas, Where they were married 6 Sep 1849. Information from people who submitted information to One World Tree and Jackie Marcella, who researched Morning West for years. There is a possibility that Morning West and her parents were born in Tennessee. She is on the Native Daugters of the Golden West List. I wrote them. One thing for sure Morning West was Cherokee. I saw a photo copy of her picture from the Smithsonian, that my Mother showed me in the late 1960's and said that was my great great grandmother. The first of her 17 children was Ann Eliza Pope, born in Arkansas in 1950. Now there's a possibility Morning West wasn't educated in Tennessee but I think Thomas Jefferson Pope was.
