I am assisting a group of researchers who are looking at a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy. The genetic defect has been traced back to a family in Warren County, TN in the 1840's. Others sources indicate the father was a Countess (Countiss).

We are looking for the following;

1. What is the origin of the Middle Tennessee Countess family; British Isles or Europe?
2. What Countess's lived in Warren or Grundy County TN in the general period of 1820 to 1850?
3 Descendents of these families.
4. Any descendents with muscle or nerve related disease.
5. Any descendent with a diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth

Any help you could render would be appreciated. We can accept a GED COM of your data base if you have applicable information.

Feel free to contact direct with any medical related information.
