My Campbell family was listed in the 1850 (Davidson Co.) TN census. My great-grandfather's application for a Confederate pension stated that he had been in TX since 1852. HOW DID HE GET FROM NASHVILLE AREA TO FREESTONE CO. TX?? Was there a Texas Road or a Texas waterway? I'm trying to find out where family members may have dropped off on the journey, either by choice or death.
