Debbie - thank you for responding to my message. I don't think your John P. Burford is our John M. Burford. John M. was born in 1795 North Carolina. He married Mary "Polly" Burford Feb. 21, 1818 in Williamson County, Tennessee. He was still in Williamson County at the time of the 1820 census but moved to Jasper County, Illinois before the 1830 census. Some years after Polly died, he married Elizabeth Jourdan May 25, 1852 in Jasper County. He lived the rest of his life in Jasper County and is buried in the Burford Cemetery there. We just cannot find any record of any kind that shows who our John M. Burford's parents were. Thank you for contacting me.
