Bernard, Landrums
I was researching the Landrums of Adams County and Pike County Illinois.I saw at the Illinois SOS web site where marriages, deaths are posted,I found that Eliza Bernard married Albert Landrum on December 7, 1839 in Adams County, Illinois.I looked at all the census records, including the 1880.She states that she was born in Tennessee and in the 1880 census says that her father was born in Virginia and mother in Tennessee. She named her fist son Stephen B. Landrum and the second son was William S.Per census records she was born in 1819 or 1820.I believe that she died in Pike County, Il.In the 1870 census she had a Charles Bernard living with her.I found another Charles in the 1880 census (same age) living with James M. Bernard.I was thinking he may be her brother, but because of some of the information posted by you it appears that James may be a half brother to her.The more I think about it it's possible that Eliza may have been the daughter of Valentine and his first wife Polly. It appears that some of the Bernards who settled in Tennesse in the early 1800's. may have moved onto and into Illinois.
Thanks
