My Mom's research says this:
John Lowe (1780 VA - 1860) married Elizabeth (Betsy) (1795 NC - 1870)
One of their children was James R. Lowe (1825 - 1899)He married *Melvina Scott (1825 - 1904)(I think they're both buried in Hamilton County, TN)I'm looking for any of James R.'s siblings, as that might be my Lowe line.
James and Melvina had four children:William T.(1856 - 1925), John T. (1858 - 1925), Bartley Wilkey (1861 - ?), Samuel (1866 - 1920).I have descendent lists for each of these, except for Bartley Wilkey.
My Mom had thought we were descendents of Bartley Wilkey, but in the last month I've found my great-grandfather was James Jackson Lowe (who had a brother named George). However, my father, who's 82, remembers being introduced to Samuel Lowe's child, Jeff Lowe, as a cousin.
Here's my line:
James Jackson Lowe (1872 - 1957)
Andrew Jackson Lowe (1897 - 1972)
Aaron Lowe (still living)
Lisa Lowe Stauffer
*My Mom's research also listed Melvina Scott Lowe's siblings as Sally A (b 1827), Matthew (b 1830), Milly M. (b 1832), and Reuben Scott (b. 1836).Their parents were Reuben Scott (b. 1796) and Polly (b. about 1796)
