Ray / Rhea Family

Bethana Rhea my gg grandmother was married to Sanford Rhodes in February of 1870. All I knew when I started on the family research about 7 years ago was where my greatgrand dad was born in which was Marion County Tennessee . My aunts and uncles was not real sure about names and my dad died a few years ago so I didn't have anyone to ask. I went through the 1870 census in Marion County till the Sanford Rhodes showed up . That is a slow process on dial up modem and loading scanned census images but I found them on the next to the last page of the census in the county. Someone in my family thought that Bethana's maiden name was Rhea or Ray. Next door to Bethana and Sanford was her mother, Sarah was head of household so luck was there . The census also said that Bethana was born in Georgia and so was her mother . Later after that I came across an index that showed some Ray's and Rhea's over in Hamilton County Tennesse and I looked over there and found Bethana in 1860 and she was 12 years old then and had SB Rhea as the head of the house . So he must have died between 1860 and 1870 so he could have been in the civil war . I never found them in the 1850 census and I never found an index of them in Georgia . One thing the census takers did is they kept changing the way they spelled Ray and I was not that smart on that at the time and I don't have the access to the census anymore . I just started posting on the internet trying to locate some of the Rhea family . I am trying to find out where and when Sanford Rhodes died and also all the info on the Rhea family that I can get. I have the pension papers that I sent off for where Bethana had applied for in the state of Texas on Franklin Fryar her second husband and he was from Hamilton County Tennessee . We think Sanford Rhodes might have died in Arkansas because James Wesley Rhodes was born in Marion Co. Tenn. in 1871 and he is the oldest and he is my greatgrand dad . His brother John Phillip born 1873 in Arkansas and a sister Mollie was born in 1874 in Marion Co. Tenn. We think Sanford must have died in Ark. and Bethana being about to give birth to Mollie she went back to Marion Co. to her mother's . She remarried Aug. 5-1876 to Franklin Fryar and they showed up in 1880 Hamilton Co. census . Franklin died in 1889 in Hamilton Co. Tenn. and sometime after that she and the three kids came to Bastrop County Texas . James Wesley Rhodes shows up in the 1900 census and he had just married . Bethana didn't show up on the census from 1880 Hamilton County Tennessee until Lamar County 1930. About 1920 all of them moved to Lamar County Texas where all my folks are and Bethana is buried there and James Wesley also buried there . I don't have a census on Sarah Rhea past 1880 so I don't know when she died or where she is buried . According to the 1860 census S.B. Rhea and Sarah both were born in Georgia but I don't have a clue what County . I don't know why Bethana loaded the three kids and came to Texas or if some of her Rhea family or the Fryar family might have came to Texas first or if she came with them but I do know she never went back to Tennessee . I would be thankful for any info that anyone can add to this or any ideas on the location of any of Bethana's family . This is the 1860 census from Hamilton County Tennessee. Found on 1860 Census District 15 Hamilton Co. Tenn. - - -Post office ; Chickawauga
