I have done a great deal of research on the Northcutt family. John Northcutt was in the Rev. War and he had several children.(In Virginia and then in Tenn.) Isaac was one of them and Archibald was another. The Northcutts lived in Hardin Co, Tenn. and Grundy Co, Tenn. and Rutherford Co.,Tenn. Archibald's wife and children left Tenn. and went to northern Mississippi by the 1850 census.
Isaac's group stayed in Tenn. longer.
Note: The Northcutts used the names: John, Archibald, Thomas, Wesley, and Isaac over and over in each generation. There were John W. Northcutts who were cousins and Thomas Northcutts also were cousins. You have to check census birthdates to determine which John or Thomas, etc.
