Anyone researching Cook and Owens families in TN?
Hello. My gr-grandparents are my "brick walls"-I have very little imfo about them to go on.So I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed and knocking on wood hoping that someone out there will see and read this message and know them.Their names were Charles Cook and Hattie(Owens)Cook and their birthdates had to have been in the late 1800's around 1880's-1890's and had to have been married around the turn of the century.Their children were:Eugene,Bonnie,Lucy and Mazell.Mazell was my grandmother and she was born somewhere in Tn Jan 17 1916 and died in Illinois Sept 28 1945 during the birth of her and my grandfathers 6th child. She had had complications throughout the pregnancy. She and my grandfather Alva/Alvie B.Wallace were married in 1933.
CHARLES COOK m HATTIE(OWENS)COOK=children were EUGENE,BONNIE,LUCY AND MAZELL.
Eugene was said to have got shot in Tn.Where and what reasons are unknown
Bonnie married someone last name of Paine/Payne
Lucy married an Overturf
Mazell married a Wallace-(my grandparents-dads parents)
Please,if anyone can help,I would be forever greatful and appreciative.I didn't get to know my grandmother or her families because she died before I was born.My father Jack R.Wallace was 5 years old when she died. His sister Glenda was 10,Norma was 8,Phyllis was 7/8,and the baby Darlene was 3 years old.My grandfather Alva/Alvie was away in WW2 when she died and my dad and his sisters were all split up between the families. When my grandfather came home,he remarried a woman named Ruth who was mean to the children. He divorced her and married a 3rd time to a woman named Georgette who also had a daughter from her previous marriage. My grandfather adopted her and raised her as his own right along with my dad and aunts.
If any of this sounds even remotely familiar to anyone,I would love to hear from you,Lillie M.(Wallace)Neal
