This is the same Robert Carson Reed who live in Franklin Co. Alabama. My husband is descended from Robert's son Robert and his wife Alabama Evans. Robert was just older than your William. I have a ledger kept by Alabama Evans Reed and it lists the children of William and Virginia. I have Lester as the second child of this family. Would love to share information with you. Robert Carson Reed was the son of James. I have all the brothers and sister of and parents of this James. John Reed and Margaret Carson were married 1779 in Guilford Co. N.C. and moved on to Kentucky then settled in Giles Co. Tennessee which is just across the border from Franklin Co. Alabama. The John Reed you have spoken of, went on the Missouri. I have all of his family. Most of the Reed men named a son Robert, some even Robert Carson. By process of elimination, I determined that James was the father of our Robert Carson. Then I found a Court Record which I think verifies that. I will send you an e-mail with attachment. Thanks for your post. Sharon
