surnames - SHANER, DAVIS, HANNAH, SEIBER
I am looking for info on the ancestry of Martin Shaner who lived in TN between 1770 - 90s and the early 1800s. He received an Armstrong land grant from the state of North Carolina in 1792. These grants were given to Revolutionary soldiers, but I have no proof that he was in service. This land grant, listed as the Adair-Carter Grants,is on micro-film in the Knoxville Lawson-McGhee Library. Martin Shaner died in Tenn. and left a will there, listing his wife as [Katty]. Their children were: Jacob Shaner (possibly born in PA?), John Shaner, and Henry Shaner; also, {daughter} - wife of John Davis with son named Lewis Davis, and {daughter} - wife of James Hannah. I know that Jacob Shaner eventually moved to Perry County, MO (Brazeau, MO) and married Elizabeth Seibert. I don't know the whereabouts of the other children. I am most interested in finding info on Martin's place of birth and parents' names. Also, info on his wife, Katty. If you have info on this family I would be delighted to know. I have been stymied here for a long time. Thank you!
