the Senters of Roane County and east TN
My information may be a generation earlier than the information you have requested. However it is important because of the Relationship betweeen the Senters and the Rices in east TN. Evidently a female Senter (possibly a sister to 1. Stephen Senter) married a Rice (possibly your Rice ancestor, Henry) and thus was encouraged to come to East TN.
Before you read further, you might want to print the family tree from James A. Veregge -June 26, 1999 //69 - as this fills in some of my information. It is my understanding that 1.Stephen Senter's wife, Susannah is buried in what is now Grainger County, TN ( formerly part of Hawkins Co. & before that part of Roane, Co.)
According to Veregge: 1.Stephen Senter b1732 - d1799 married Susannah ????b1736 ?pl-d1818. Their second child was 2[1]-William Tandy Senter b1761 (most likely though some sources say 1757) - d1865 buried in Senter/Margrave family cemetary in what is now Harriman, Roane Co., TN (though his remains along with the remains of other members of the family may have been transferred to Kingston, Roane Co, TN. In the 1970's an historical marker honoring Tandy as a hero of the Revolution was erected in the Kingston, TN cemetary.)
2{1]-William Tandy Senter married wife #A-Susan Lyon b1765 - d1806. Their children were:
3 [2+A.1]-James L.(possibly Lyons] Senter b1790 - d 1838 married Elizabeth Harris b1790 -??. his unnamed heirs were mentioned in Tandy's will.
