John Watts, Iredell Co., NC>Maury Co. circa 1810-1815

Has anyone ever come across this John Watts? He was the son of James Watts and Mary (Bartholomew?) of Iredell Co., NC. John is listed in James Watts will which references his "Tennessee lands" in 1793. This apparently refers to holdings in Maury Co. as the will is on file there and John Watts appears in Maury court documents as late as 1815. After that he disappears and is presumed to have died.

There is some uncertainty as to where these Watts originated. Some say Pennsylvania, others northern Virginia, still others Maryland. There is even speculation they came straight from Scotland.

Of particular interest is the Patience Young who witnessed James Watts' will. She may have been the Patience Sinclair who married William Young in Stafford Co., VA. There is a William Young on the 1790, 1800 Iredell censuses. Could this be a clue about the Watts origins? How do these Youngs relate to James Watts?
