John Endsley came from Stokes County, N. C. to the Liberty Valley section of Bedford Co., TN in the winter of 1816/1817. This section became a part of Marshall County TN when it was established in 1836. The first known deed to be recorded by John Endsley in TN is a 2 Jan 1817 purchase of 125 acres, 30 poles from Josiah Blackwell. [Bedford Co. TN Deed Book H, page 402].

MARSHALL COUNTY TENNESSEE BIBLE RECORDS by Carolyn McAdams, 1981 was edited by Helen Crawford Marsh and published by the Marshall County Historical Society, Lewisburg, Tennessee. The Family Record of the John Endsley family is on pages 1 & 2. The Bible was in the possession of James W. Endsley, 215 5th Avenue, North, Lewisburg, Tennessee.

That James W. Endsley was a direct descendant of John Endsley through John's son, Bedford Endsley, his son, John Francis Endsley, his son, B. Endsley. James Walton Endsley's obituary is in the Columbia Tennessee Daily Herald 10 May 1985. He died 9 May 1985 in Lewisburg. Member of the First Presbyterian Church, Shriners, Masons, city councilman for 14 years and a retired CPA. His wife, Willie Mae Cheek Endsley was the only survivor named in the obituary.

Willie Mae Cheek Endsley's obituary appears in the 8 Sep 1994 Columbia Tennessee Daily Herald. She died 6 Sep 1994 at Merihil Health Care Facility in Lewisburg. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Lewisburg. The only survivors named in the obituary were two cousins, Cliff Whitesell and George Ollie Whitesell.

Some of us descendants would love to locate the Bible and obtain permission to photograph the publisher's information and the Family Record. Your help will be most appreciated.
