I am seeking additional information on this individual whose mother seems to have been the Jane Spence that was listed as head-of-household on the 1840 census of Marshall County. Sarah Ann Spence married George Glascock in Marshall County on January 16, 1840, later died there on November 10, 1845, and is buried in the Head Springs Cemetery. She was born on October 31, 1818, but I am not at all sure of her place of birth.
The surname "Spence" does not appear on the 1850 census of Marshall County and I can only assume that the suspected mother, Jane Spence, must have left there, at some point, between 1840 and 1850. In all events, I do not have a clue as to where this Spence family might have come from or, for that matter, where they might have gone to. Any help would be most appreciated.
