From 1936 to 1943 the WPA transcribed tombstone inscriptions and church meeting minutes. There is no record of Samuel Meals in either the Bent Creek Cemetery or Bent Creek Church Meeting Minutes. There is a record of the Church receiving Daniel and Mary Meals by Letter during February 1817.
