John LEWIS/Sarah GRIFFIN marriage, 1846

Looking for any info regarding the union of John LEWIS and Sarah GRIFFIN in Jefferson Co. in 1846. I believe this could possibly be my great-great grandfather and grandmother. Recently I've learned that info provided to me previously was incorrect, making it necessary to begin this search anew. I obtained this new information from a book entitled EARLY EAST TENNESSEE MARRIAGES. John Lewis's middle initial was "R". They eventually settled in Cocke Co. Tennessee after spending some time in Sevier Co., where they appeared on the 1850 census. I would greatly appreciate any information that might help me confirm my suspicions.
Thanks.
