Montgomery-Long

I think my Montgomery line may connect to Hugh Montgomery who showed up in Fayette County, Tn in 1850 living with James and Catherine Smith. The census says Hugh was born in Ireland. Hugh Montgomeries abound in every nation in the western world it seems!!

My farthest back Montgomery is Samuel Montgomery of Haywood and Tipton Counties who married Minerva Jane Long in Fayette County in 1855. Samuel was born abt. 1829 in Tennessee. His supposed brothers were born in South Carolina.

This is my long-time brick wall.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?
