I finally seen where william Jefferson Mallet was shown as being light skinned with blue eyes and light colored hair. That really compares the difference of how Levi was listed as being "Mulato" and dark complexion with dark eyes and dark hair.
William J Mallet was listed on 2 'prisoner of war' registers. One for being captured on 7 Nov 1864 in Hawkins Co and sent to Louisville, Ky on 8 Jan 1865 and another one being captured on 12 Nov 1864 in Hawkins Co and sent to Chattanooga, Tn on Dec 31 1864. I'm wondering if these are both for the same thing or was he actually captured twice. Since he was captured in Hawkins Co, could it be because he was trying to hide from the war back in his hometown?
