States: Tennessee: Hawkins
That is certainly possible, but the records for most residents of Hawkins County are pretty sparse. They may have lived in the Blackwater area bounding Lee and future Hancock County. Hancock bacame a county about 1846 when it split off from Hawkins County. The boundary between Lee and Hancock counties was adjusted several times. Unfortunately, most of the records of Hancock County were lost in three fires. I looked through the Hawkins County deed index, but I didn't see any Silvers listed. I presume that these were the Silvers that moved on to Illinois? I only find them in 1830 and 1840 Lee County, and in Montgomery County, VA before that.
