Hello, I am trying to discover the parents and siblings of my ancestor, Frances J. DAWSON. I know that she was born somewhere in Tennessee (per census records) on 3 Aug 1831 (per a family Bible). She married William S. DAWSON in 1847.
William S. DAWSON was born in Williamson Co., Tennessee, so I am starting my search for the CLARKs there. However, between 1840 and 1850, William also lived in Hardeman Co., Tennessee; somewhere in Texas; and in Tippah Co., Mississippi (They were in Tippah Co. for the 1850 census, but had a 9-month old son born in Texas).
This, of course, leaves me with no idea which county was Frances' birthplace! I'm not even sure where they married, as a record has not been found. The family Bible gave the exact date of their marriage, but only the year 1847 is legible. They may have married in Tippah Co., MS before going to Texas - the Tippah courthouse was burned in 1864.
Any clues to her parentage are greatly appreciated! :)
