Yarbrough and Robinson in Hardeman Co.,TN 1840

According to an article of agreement made on the 30th day of October 1839, James Yarbrough and wife Martha were "of the County of Hardeman State of Tennessee"

There is a James Yarbrough listed in the 1840 census for Hardeman Co., TN. His household contains 1 male under 5, 2 males 5 to 10, and 1 male 30 to 40, along with 1 female under 5, and 1 female 30 to 40.

Can find no James and Martha Yarbrough in Hardeman Co in 1850. There is a James and Martha Yarbrough in Gibson Co., TN in 1850 with two sons and one daughter whose ages would fit for most of those in Hardeman Co. 1840 census.

Trying to determine if this entry in 1840 is the household of James Yarbrough who married Martha Robinson, daughter of Edward Robinson Jr and Anna Meador. If so, is it the same family as in Gibson Co. 1850?

If anyone has any information concerning Martha Robinson who married James Yarbrough I would love to hear from you. Email me directly if you prefer KRai3@aol.com
