I believe there were more families that were Melungeon
then alot of people realize! My Thompson's lived in
Hancock Co. Claiborne Co. and Lee Co. Finding info on
them is like pulling teeth! My granpa did not look white
and I saw pictures of his mother and she did not either,
she was a Welch, who's line stops like the Thompson's and
a few other of my surnames in that these area's, so I
think we need to broaden our thinkin in this!!! I am
finally realizing a dream this week as I am moving to
Claiborne Co. and just maybe after over 20 yrs of doing
genealogy I just might find some answers!!!
