I have a James Orville Burton-Trent b.1873, son of David Burton-Trent b.1842 and Manerva Brooks. David was the son of James Burton-Trent 1795-1860 and Elizabeth Johnson 1799-1900. James was the son of Charity Burton Osborne (or vice versa) Trent 1773-1847. His father is unknown. His step-father was William D. Trent Sr. 1775-shortly after end of Civil War.

The list of children I have for David and Manerva are:
Sophia 1863
Martha 1865
Mary 1867
William 1870
James O 1873
John J 1876
Margaret or Marget 1879
and possibly Fred b.?

I have no descendants beyond this. This is based, almost entirely, on the Trent book by Thelma Cloud. My mother (and others) edited the book for her and I happened across 8 pages of it among my Mother's papers.

I don't know if this is the right James O. Trent to be the father of David Lester Trent or not. Ora Samantha Gibson was my 2great aunt and sister to my great grandpa John Douglas (Doug) Gibson. Small world!

The link David gave you should take you to Scott Trent and Sharon Carter who are the best Trent researchers I know of.
