Helton / Hilton Native Americans

We are looking for any of the Helton lines from Hancock Co. Our line recently did a DNA test with Family Tree in Houston and it came back Native American. Our family had about 120 applications to the Cherokee Nation and were turned down because our ancestor was in the Treaty Party of 1829.

We are currently working on all of the lines of Helton and Hiltons. If you have the names of your family we may be able to help you with your line. So far we have established four distinct lines of Heltons/Hiltons in the US.

I know that this is the heart of Melungeon Country. One of our ancestors had five children. Four of these married into the Goins family. All of them applied for Cherokee membership.
