No this Rufus would but white.
Rufus M. (R.M) TIPTON by 1900 he would have been about 57 yrs. old, b. abt 1843. He was listed in Hancock Co., TN 1891 District 14 on the Voters list. Also list on that list was James Spears. They were listed living together with their families in the 1880 Hancock Co., TN Census.
Thanks for looking. This family has been hard to trace. Do you know anyone who has a death book that might record his death? He is also listed on WILLIAM A. TIPTON's civil war records on May 11, 1893, Rufus M. TIPTON stated that his residents was Alanthus Hill TN in Hancock Co., TN. How you ever heard of this town and if so what co is it in now?
