Thank you so much for this post. You are always the source of treasure. This almost brought tears to my eyes. I'm wondering if these Andersons tie to those who married into my Codys. I'm sure there are some folks here who know!

Granny and Pawpaw spoke many times of their childhood Christmases when the treasure they received was some fruit and candy. Until she died, one of Granny's annual gifts was a box of peppermint sticks. Pawpaw got horehound. I don;t know if anything meant more to them (unless it was their respective boxes of Red Ox and Red Coon -- I'm not going to say what that was; I'm curious who out there can identify it.)

Thank you for bringing out one of those simple memories that brings meaning to all this "research."
