I am a decendent of George Rogers b. 1769 d. 1856 and his son Robert b. 1801 d. 1858 of the Copper Ridge, Lee Valley, Eidson, Little War Creek and Richardson Creek area. Together they owned over a thousand acres between the top of Clinch Mt. to the Clinch River, including the ferry, and some land north of the river.
I am looking for info on this family.
I have been to the area a number of times. I have not been able to find any cemeteries or families named Rogers. I did find the Starnes old home place and cemetery on the Lee Valley Road. (Robert was married to Katherine Starnes dau. of John). I also found Lawson Road which is on property once owned by George Rogers. My Rogers and the Lawson family were connected.
George had sons: George Jr., Granville P., David S., and Robert.
Does anyone have any info on any of these men mentioned?
