Sizemore-Miner-Mallet Question
Posted by: David Jones (ID *****5729) Date: June 08, 2002 at 12:48:12

Peter Mallet was living in Hawkins (Hancock) Conuty near the Sizemores in 1830 and 1840. He had two sons, Levi and William Jefferson Mallet, and four daughters living at home in 1830. It is presumed that the four daughters married someone in the vicinity. Levi Mallet married Elizabeth Unknown about 1841, and had a number of children. Levi Mallet died during the Civil War, and the family appeared to break up after the war with the children living with various families in Hawkins/Hancock counties. In 1870, Levi's daughters Sarah, Susan and Nancy Mallet were living with Joseph and Mariah Miner in District 4 (Wallen/War Gap) of Hancock County. Later in the century, Zach Minor filed papers with the US Government to act as a guardian under the pension rights of Levi Mallet. This Zach Miner is believed the son of Zach Miner and Agatha (Agness) Sizemore. Does anyone know if there is a marriage connection between the Sizemores or Miners and the Mallet family?

Thanks,
David
