ACUFF, ALICE FAYE -- age 59, Route 2, White Pine, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Member of First Baptist Church, White Pine. Survivors: 5 daughters, Mrs. Pauline Bolden, Mrs. Rosa Mae Waites, both of Morristown, Deanna Brown, White Pine, Shirley Johnson, Talbert, Annie Sartain, Chattanooga; 2 sons, Daniel and Rodger Acuff, both of White Pine; 26 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 3 brothers, Johnny Hickey, White Pine, Paul and Sam, both of Rutledge; 2 sisters, Mrs. Maggie Kimbrough, White Pine, Mrs. Goldie Turner, Greenville, SC; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Lynn officiating. Interment in White Pine Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, then the body will be moved to the family home, where it will remain until time for services. It can tell you the county of death. Of course, that may not be the county of residence. A lot of people who lived in Grainger, Union, etc. died in hospitals in Knoxville (Knox County). The Social Security Death Index at

might be a better guide to county of residence.
