Ha! I was thinking the same thing, but wasn't brave enough to say it. :-)
I know that temps in the south can get very warm even in May when William died and into October when Benjamin died.
But I do know of some people's bodies being transferred to their home area after their death, but not sure if they would have gone that far back in those days.
In 1880, the wife of one of my Galloway family members was taken from one county in Missouri to another for burial in the family plot, but that was about 70 miles.
I'm not giving up on finding William's grave! I'll keep searching.
