Jack, I don't know about Elk River, but I have seen it in Land Discriptions in Franklin County. I am having the same problem with a Land Doc concerning John Lowrey/Lowry. This legal discription states that his land sits on Duck River. When I look up Duck River, it doesn't even touch Franklin County. I am wondering if Duck River doesn't have forks or branchs meandering in Franklin. Good luck to you and if I see anything I will post.
