Hello,
I'm helping a lady in our genealogy society who is looking for info on the LAX family. & I would a listing for a LAX cemetery in Cocke co Tenn & wondered if there might be a listing of those buried there that we could check the LAX names & dates?
I found a William Lax in Wilson co. 1840, 2 boys under 10, he was 30-40, 1 female 10-15, 2 15-20 & a female 30-40. not sure it's the one I'm looking for?

1880 finds them in Precinct 4 Collin Texas

1900 finds them in Custer County, OKlahoma

Searching the Cocke Co. Genweb site, I found an interesting listing on Obedience Lax in the Minutes of Union Baptist Church of Christ, date 1846 "Church charged her with private intoxication (this could be the Obedience CASE listed earlier)"
& a "Elizabeth LAX 1844".
Thanks for any help you can share on the LAX family & LAX Cemetery in Cocke Co. TN with us.. & Happy Trails on all your researching in 2009 also.
