Hello, Here is part of your previous post that I wish to ask about.
My 5th great grandfather Thomas Gaskins served in NOrthumberland Co, PA born 1723 died 2 Jul 1790. WE can find no info on where he was born but know he was here long enough to head milita in clearing some of the Susquehanna River area from Indians so settlers could navigate the river to cross the mountains. this is what some of the Gaskins in VA did as well so feel he is of this Military oriented family. He shows up here having land.
Pennsylvania, Land Warrants, 1733-1987
Name: Thomas Gaskins
Acreage: 100
Warrant Date: 1 Jun 1768
Warrant Location: Es-3362

These two documents place Thomas d 1790 as father to Thomas b 1749 and his
wife Elizabeth.

I have the desc of this son Thomas in my tree.
We can't find any info on immigration etc on Thomas b 1723 and wonder if he is the son of Harmanson who you have in your tree. Yo don't have where he died and could have been because he went to PA and never made it back to VA.
[keeping in mind that back then it wasn't north and south but the whole of the Blue Ridge which also goes to NY state via PA could have easily been included in where the Gaskins were placed to help stabilize the western boundaries of Colonial life then.
I am feeling our Thomas was of one of the Northumberland VA Gaskins as Washington assigned Thomas Jr to some tasks and also the county here was named Northumberland. Ie Thomas Gaskins was one of the first to head Militia in PA Northumberland Co.
Would appreciate any ideas relating to finding our Thomas Gaskins 1723-1790.
