Robert Howe Jr. son of Revolutionary War soldier, Major General Robert Howe petitioned for a Military Warrant of land and was represented by Samuel Hankins. He received a grant for 16,000 acres in Carroll, Henry and what is now Benton Counties of TN. This land grant is on file in Carroll Co. Samuel Hankins married Rebecca Evans Daniell who was the daughter of Ann Goodlet(Howe)Daniell. Ann was the Major General's sister and of course mother-in-law to Samuel Hankins. When Robert Howe Jr. died about 1829 he left all his lands in TN to Samuel Hankins and I have seen where Samuel owned 14,000 acres there in Henry County. We are researching the Howe name to find a connection for William Howe of Benton Co. to the Robert How line. I would like to know if anyone knows of these families?
