Looking for marriage of William Estes and Sarah ? may be Brimer/Brymer or may be Henry. may be Katherine.
Sarah Katherine Brimer was the daughter of Jackson Brimer and Angeline Beaty, they married in Dekalb County. Sarah was born 1861.
Sarah first married 1880 in Warren County to her cousin Jesse Brimer.
Between 1880 and 1890, the story goes that Sarah took up with another man and her father killed the man and went to prison for it. I am waiting to hear from Dept of corrections on this.
William and Sarah are found in the 1900 census in Auburntown with these children;
Linda (which is Malinda Henry, but listed as an Estes),
Willie (which is William Howard Henry, but listed as Estes)
Also looking for some type of probate or guardianship for these children. Sarah died around 1902-3. I find in R. M. Johnson's journal Meors Williman Estes died nov 29, 1903 and I'm wondering if this could be her. I have no idea at all what happened to William Estes.
There was another child, Lillie May said to have been born May 1900, but is not shown on census. She was my grandmother. Very little is known about her childhood. She was living with the Tim Moore Jr family in Wilson County when she married in 1919. Tim Moore Sr and wife Fannie ran the Protestant Home for Girls in Nashville in the early 1900's, but they didn't organize until 1907. I have pictures of the Home and children.
Over many years I have found tidbits of info on these children.
Malinda had a child born 1905, His name was Thomas Keaton, another familiar name to Cannon county and adjoining counties. His death certificate says his father was John Keaton. Malinda moved to Evansville, Indiana by 1920 and divorced.
Willie married Ellen Mccarty first in Montgomery County 1915, Ellen was from Dickson County, she died in 1917 Hamilton County, Oh, he then married Mattie Vessel in Lauderdale county, Alabama and later also moved to Evansville, In. He is the only one of the siblings we ever knew.
I have nothing on John, it was thought that he lived around McMinnville, but I have been unable to find anything on him.
Jess Estes was found in Van Buren County earliest time was 1916 when he first marries Ova Curtis, then marries Maggie Tucker in 1922. they had several children and may at some time lived in Guntersville, alabama.
Lige Estes is said to have been in prison and I'm working on finding more on him.
Any information on this family would help and be deeply appreciated.
