I do not see him or any other FARE listing in the Cannon County Tombstones book by Jess Lewis.

In Cannon Co. Marriages 1838-1899:
Miss D.L. Fare to A.G. McKnight 3 Nov 1857
Mary A. Fare to Moses W. McKnight 24 Sept 1855

In Cannon Co. TN Chancery Court Records 1840-1880:
p. 20; Zebulon L. Brevard versus J.L. Farr, Joseph Pinkerton and wife Nancy, Martha Brewer, Susan Brewer, Robert Brewer, William Esley and wife Eliza, Thomas W. Brewer, and Erasmus G. Brewer. On 24 Jun 1850, complainant recovered a judgment against Jonathan L. Farr before T.B. Brevard, a Justice of the Peace. On 5 Jan 1849, the said Farr purchased from Erasmus Kees a lot in Woodbury known as Lot No. 43. He executed a note for a part of the purchase money which was endorsed by said Kees to Jesse Brewer and Benjamin Brewer deceased. Defendants Alfred D. Fugett and Charles T. New are administrators. The other defendants, except Farr, are their heirs. 5 mar 1852. (p. 264-265).

p. 23; Zachariah L. Brevard versus J. L. Farr and others. 1 Oct 1852. (p.314).

p.28; Elizabeth Wrather by her next friend George W. Cooper versus James M. Roberts, Jonathan L. Farr, David M. Jarratt, and others. Complainant's next friend has given security. The Court is of the opinion that the next friend has no right to file as a pauper. 30 mar 1854 ( p.45-46).

p. 44; Elizabeth J. Barton by her next friend J.L. Farr versus William Barton and others. The demurrer is well taken. Defendatns to pay the costs. 5 Apr 1859. (p. 273).

p.79; A.G. Adams versus J.F. Weedon. Motion to file amended bill making J.L. Fare and Elizabeth A. Weedon as defendants. 21 Aug 1868. (p.399).

p.99; Hiram Kirkland, Hiram Todd and wife Permelia, William Robinson and wife Emeline, Joanna Kirkland, Alex Petty, and John F. Williams versus James Hare and wife Millie E., Samuel Kirkland, Newton Petty, Nancy C. Petty, Enola E. J. Williams, Thomas Stephens, and Joshua Stephens. It appears to the court that Isaac Kirkland died in Cannon County in the year 186_, intestate. Hiram Todd is his administrator. There is sufficient property to pay the debts. Petitioners and defendants are all of the heirs of the said Isaac Kirkland. It is in their interest that the land be sold. 18 May 1871. (p. 176-177).

p. 101; Alsa Jones versus Alford Owens Et Al. The defendant, Alford Owen died. The cause was revived against his children in the Supreme Court. J.L. Fare was appointed as their guardian. The children are Lafayette Owen, Josiah Owen, and Cancie Owen. 20 Nov 1871. (p. 225).

p. 111; Alsa Jones versus Alford Owen Et Al. J.L. Fare is appointed as guardian for the minor heirs of Alfred Owen. 20 May 1873. (p.420).

In Land Deed Genealogy of Cannon County, 1836-1857 there are many entries for J.L. Fare, but I do not have time at the moment to enter them here. If you would like you can email me at and I will respond as soon as possible.
Thanks and I hope this helps.
