Have hit a brick wall with my Tennessee Brewers. Looking for the husand/father of these Brewers who are listed on the 1860 Cannon Co., TN Census. Later censuses show that the husband/father was also from TN. I have death certificates for his two sons, but neither of them give his name or their mother's maiden name.
1860 Cannon Co., TN
BREWER, Martha, age 37, TN
BREWER, Lucy, age 10, TN
BREWER, John, age 8, TN
BREWER, Nancy, age 6, TN
BREWER, Margaret, age 4, TN
BREWER, Thomas, age 1, TN
The family was still in Cannon Co., TN in 1870 and 1880. I've heard that Lucy eventually married Samuel DAVIS but I have not located them.
John B. moved to Alabama and married Dora GOLLEHER, then Nannie WILLIAMS, then Cordelia YANCY. Nancy married Christopher Columbus "Lum" EDWARDS and moved to Oklahoma.
Margaret apparently died young, for she is not on the 1870 census.
Thomas Jefferson moved to AL then Dayton, TN, married Nannie LOWRY, then Nell GILLESPIE.
The mother Martha is buried in the Buttram Cemetery in Rhea Co., near her youngest son Thomas. The father apparently died before 1860, but I don't know where they were living.
I cannot find them in 1850, when the father would have still be alive. I did find a John and Martha BREWER in Robertson Co. with a 2-month old unnamed daughter that could be Lucy - have not been able to track that family any further so this may be mine but I don't know when/why they would have moved down to Cannon Co.
I appreciate any help and/or tips on where to look next.
