Diane -

Today Highway 70S runs from McMinnville to Woodbury.

Traveling from McMinnville west, you would intersect with the Short Mountain Road when you were about a mile into Cannon County.

Today's Short Mt. Rd. runs north to the DeKalb County line passing just west of the ancient village of Half Acre, once called Mechanicsville or vice versa. In the process, the road crosses some of the ridges of Short Mountain about 2/3 of the way to DeKalb County.

- Ken
