George,
E-Mail me at kennethlnewman@bellsouth.net/
Yes we are talking about the same book. Ralph contacted my and requested information on his Jacob Augustus Newman, b. December 10, 1810. I did not recognize that name, I was unable to help him. He later sent a package of material and two copies of " NEWMAN" to a friend of mine. He requested that Preston, my friend, to sort out the information. Preston sent the material and a copy of the book to me. The material was a mess. I opened the book to the Military Record of John Newman. I knew a great deal about John Newman. I know the location of the graves of his family. I soon realized that this was the family of John Newman Jr. of Green County, Tennessee.

Let me know who you are. I probably have the rest of the story.

I have your line back to East Jersey Province, March 1683/4
