I have preliminary research from Census records, coupled with a death certificate for a family member, which imply an Arthur BROOKS was married to a woman named Jane LONG, believed to be a native of IL.

In 1860, Arthur's wife was entered in the Census either as Marilda J or Mathilda J, when they lived in the State of TX.

By 1870, Arthur was gone, and his wife was living in Bedford Co, TN, using the name: Jane BROOKS. Among the children were: Lynch 13, Mary W, and Arthur 7, with Lynch born (1855) in TN, the others in TX.

Any informaton connecting this Jane BROOKS to a LONG family would be most appreciated.
