I've mentioned some of these names in earlier posts, but here are some more that may link with some of yours.
Note the ages that were documented for the father and mother in the 1850 and 1860 censuses. Father aged 17 yrs (with a different birth state) and mother only 4 years, but the children's ages all match. Women tended to 'get younger' in the census back then and the data may have been given to the census taker by someone else.
From the 1850 Bedford Co. TN Census:
Ragsdale David 31 M -- VA
Ragsdale Elizabeth 36 F
Ragsdale Thomas 12 M
Ragsdale John 8 M
Ragsdale Alexander 6 M
Ragsdale William 3 M
Ragsdale Jane 53 F

(The David is David Alexander B. Ragsdale, my g-g-grandfather. I have no info on sibs or parents, except that David's mother appears to be Jane. I do not know his wife's maiden name. Alexander, age 6, is my g-grandfather, David Alexander Ragsdale. They moved to AR sometime around 1850-52.)
From the 1860 Pike Co. AR Census, Brewster Tsp.:
Ragsdale, DAB 48 M W NC Farmer Ragsdale, EN 40 F W Ragsdale, JW 17 M W TN Ragsdale, DA 16 M W TN Ragsdale, WN 13 M W TN Ragsdale, NJ 8 F W AR Ragsdale, HB 6 M W AR Ragsdale, Smith 1 M W AR

(Last three children, Nancy, Henry and Smith were born in AR. Oldest son Thomas, then 22, was listed at the dwelling of the Campbell's, next door/farm. D.A.B. Ragsdale's mother Jane was gone. Believe some of these Ragsdales went to Washington/Benton Co. AR, and my D.A. Ragsdale, with wife Lydia Ellen Hopkins and a bunch of kids, moved to Waco, McLennan Co. TX in the late 1880s.)
ANY help with these folks will be greatly appreciated.

Also...if anyone has info on Thomas Jefferson Ragsdale and linkage to my folks.

Thanks for taking the time to read my message.

Fred Ragsdale
