Tony, thanks so much for the response. Yours is the first real lead I have had from TN. Another clue that might help is what we feel is my gggrandfather's older brother. His name is Hardin P. Hale and born TN in 1828. County and parents unknown but both were reported by him as being born in TN on several census while in AR. They lived in AR near each other several times. I have a humorous story about Hardin should he be related. He was a "fierce" confederate and asked to buried with his feet pointing north as he had kicked so many Yankees' butts when alive, he wanted to be pointed in the right direction to do so in the after life. Both he and my gggrandfather were confederate veterans.

I am anxiously awaiting the review of your notes.
