Double Spanish Language Surnames
In Mexico everyone goes by double surnames, ie:Juan Gil-Preciado, once the governor of the state of Jalisco.Gil is his father's surname and Preciado being his mother's surname. And the same sort of situation exists for each of his parents.
I know is it possible to enter the double surname in TMG.
Because these people were known by the double surname, should it be entered in that manner as the primary name?I know I could use the double surname as a Name Variation, but those the double surnames is the name they were known by.
Also, when the woman marries, she drops the second surname (her mother's surname) and adds "de" in front of her husbands. This I am doing when prompted for a married name.
Any thoughts on this?Any suggestions for doing it differently?
