I have uncovered info on Edwin, while researching my own line of Tittertons.:

1870 USCensus New York, Flatbush:
George, 47 bn. 1823 England, occ. bookkeeper
Matilda,(Gooch) 37, bn Eng
Geo age 2 bn NY

1900 U S Census, Essex New Jersey Orange City

Geo E. bn July 1868 NY, age 31 parents English
Edith 29
Edwin bn Aug 1895 NJ
Donald W 1899 NJ

He is possibly a member of the Dewitt Titterton family of London. See John Titterton's website. He writes me:

Young George's son Donald was apparently known to the family of John Dewitt Titterton whose family he and I have traced back to the UK in London about 1730s. According to John his family regarded Donald's family as cousins but no body knows the relationship. It is possible that with the same surname they decided that they must be related (as I am sure they are).
