My maternal grandfather was David Titcomb, born near Boston in the 1890's. My aunt ,Mary Titcomb is my late mother, Regina's, sister. aunt Mary always told us how the family goes back to Plymouth colony, and how one of our ancestors helped Washington finance the Continental Army. To this day , any male Titcomb can attend West Point without Congressional sponsorship because of this. The family also branched out to Maine where there is (was?) a town named after them.I'd love to here from you to be able to confirm any of this.
